Our Part in the Kingdom of God

Taken from Teaching Given by Mati Shoshani

My wife and I went out on a date recently to visit a local vineyard here in the hills of Judea.  I looked at the beautiful terraces with the rows of vines.  The guide told us that 100 years ago there was nothing here but thorns and weeds.  I thought of the prophecy:

Amos 9:14
I will restore the captivity of My people Israel ad they will build the desolate cities and dwell in them, and they will plant vineyards and drink their wine...

I realized we were living out a partial fulfillment of the vision that Amos had almost 3,000 years ago, when he looked into the future and saw what we see today. Everything around us is a miracle; everything about life in Israel is a fulfillment of prophecy; everything is a stage of the coming of the kingdom of God.  We have a part to play in the kingdom in our generation.

How does the Kingdom of God work?

  1. Yeshua is the King
  2. The kingdom is two-dimensional, both heaven and earth.
  3. It is gradual, increasing in stages over thousands of years.
  4. Everything in this world can be part of the kingdom if we dedicate it to serve God.
  5. We as followers of Yeshua are the citizens or "children" of the kingdom.
  6. We have ownership and authority in that kingdom.
  7. We therefore have responsibility to promote and usher in Yeshua's kingdom.

The kingdom started before Yeshua was born.  We are part of the process of that kingdom gradually taking dominion over planet earth. The last stage of that process will be:

Revelation 11:15
The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah.

We have a part to play in that kingdom both individually and collectively. The kingdom of God is not separate from the things of this world.  If Yeshua lives inside of us, then His kingdom is inside of us.  We stand in the gap to influence this world and to bring Yeshua's dominion into the world through everything we do in every sphere of life.

Evangelism to IDF Soldiers

Rachel Netanel

The secular Yeshiva in Ein Kerem has a special program for soldiers being inducted into the army and God has given us (at Beit Netanel) such favor with their leaders. This last month one officer, who had been with us before, asked if he could bring 30 more young soldiers specifically to hear me teach about Yeshua!

So, as usual Gilad and I prepared a large meal because in our culture, when they sit to eat it breaks the ice and they are more open to hear what I have to say.  I was surprised to find how hungry these young people were to learn about Yeshua. I told them about how the Son of God put on flesh and how He came to take away our sins and give us His righteousness. They asked so many questions!

One of them asked, “What can we do to make Messiah will come? I said that first of all you need to ask God to show you the truth. If you read the Tenach, the first mention of the Messiah is in Genesis 3:15,

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

What does it mean the ‘seed of the woman’?  There is no other woman where this is mentioned because the Messiah must not be born of man.  Look at what is written in Isaiah 7:14,

“…Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”

They were amazed and said, “What? This is in our Tanakh?”

This conversation lasted more than three houses after lunch. They were so happy and several want to come again and bring their families. Before they left, they presented me with an award for my service to the soldiers which said, “In appreciation for the enlightening atmosphere and fascinating conversation.” Praise God!
